This year’s tournament is an example of a growing trend of increased collaboration among nonprofits – especially between smaller organizations and those that don’t share the same mission. ”We are very happy to be partnering with the Rachael’s Ribbons of Hope Foundation for the tournament” stated Historic Manitou boardmember Michelle Anthony. ”Each of us brings a different supporter demographic and the combined manpower of two organizations, which is important when you do everything with volunteers!” Anthony indicated the groups have already discussed additional opportunities to support each other’s missions and partnering on future events.
Rachael’s Ribbons of Hope Foundation was started November 1, 2007, and is dedicated to raising awareness about pediatric brain tumors and funding research through the Brain Tumor Institute for treatments and ultimately a cure. The foundation is a memorial and a continuation of the dream of Rachael Newton, daughter of the foundation director. For more information, please visit the website at www.rachaelsribbonsofhope.org.
